Artworks - Jake Mee

Jake MeeNature is my primary muse. My aim is to communicate the fragility of beauty and nature ensuring that the same qualities are present in my glass. My glass is about form and colour, the cutting and polishing of my work being a primary focal point in my final pieces. Smooth lines and curves with contrasting sharp edges enable me to achieve my objectives. Stand-alone pieces develop in to groups of contrasting form and colour and by taking on the entire process of the creations myself I ensure that my work has an artistic integrity that reflects my true inspiration. I believe that in doing so; a stronger sense of what has inspired me will come through with more volume and impression. That which has been the centre of my inspiration will continue to inspire me for as long as I find new ideas for design hidden amongst all of nature's secrets. Those artists who maintain a strong sense of organic form mostly inspire my glass and I aspire to their standards of excellence and perfection in utilising the chosen medium and translating my inspirations through this.
