Artworks - Laura Jordan

Laura Jordan uses her illustrative skills to offload all her crazy thoughts and visuals. Her artwork evolves into a mind-map or plan, where one thought links to another and so on. She likes to present the viewer with a tangible yet complex image, which captures their imagination and leaves them to explore their own perception of the work and its meaning. Originally from Haslemere, Surrey, Laura studied at the Surrey Institute of Art and Design, and moved to London in 2004 where she now lives and works. Having obtained a degree in Graphic Design, she went on to complete an Illustration degree at London College of Communication, University of the Arts, London. Laura’s studies at university were based around the cityscape of London, and the people who live and move around it. Since finishing university, Laura has continued to hold a fascination for London and its culture. She cleverly combines visuals of London with fantasy and imagination to evoke new and interesting ideas. Starting out with a basic idea of what she wants to achieve but letting the outcome unravel far from the initial idea. Laura enjoys this process as she never knows where a project will take her or where it might lead.
