Artworks - Stella Maris

Colour is the starting point for my work. I arrive at the silkscreen workshop with the colours I want to use and the skimpiest of sketches. The work then evolves through experimentation with marks and the alchemy of colour mixing. I am always aiming for a piece that is simple and strong. I want to represent energy and calm at the same time. Usually the prints refer to a relationship with the sea or with the land but recently figures have appeared. The prints do reflect a personal journey and it is important to me that they are uplifting. I do not know at the outset what the work will look like – it always seems as if there has been some magic along the way
