Kim Jakobsen To (b. 1985) is a recent first class graduate from the University for the Creative Arts at Farnham, studying under the renowned Anna Fox. Norwegian born, with a mixed cultural background, he is working chiefly around identity and youth cultures. Using the portrait as a way of investigation he is carrying references to both newer traditions of documentary and the classic portrait. He has published work internationally in art and fashion magazines, having one of his portrait series, 'Fluid', due to be published in the forthcoming book ‘Post Porn Politics’ by the Jan van Eyck Academie. As well as working with photography he has also collaborated with other artists such as Shu Lea Cheang on bigger projects involving film and performance. One of which was shown at the Southern Norwegian Museum of Modern Art in 2004.
